Diabetes Screening and Risk Assessment

Wondering if you are at risk for diabetes? You’re not alone. Type 2 diabetes has been on the rise throughout the United States.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 86 million people—a third of the US population—have prediabetes. And 90% of them don’t know it. (See www.cdc.gov/diabetes.)

What is "prediabetes"? People with prediabetes are at risk for developing diabetes. But if it’s caught early, prediabetes can often be reversed by losing weight, exercising and making healthy dietary choices.
