Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement
The tragic events of 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic shined a bright light on our country’s long-standing racial inequities. PacMed recognizes that race and other factors including ethnicity, gender identities, sexual orientation, age, physical and mental ability, religion, and socioeconomic status contribute to health disparities. We believe that all people should receive health care that acknowledges and continuously works to counter these inequities. We intend to be the best at embracing the full lives of all who come to us for care. Our goal is to be intentional in the work of dismantling barriers that keep people from achieving their best health.
PacMed created a Health Equity Council to oversee, review, and be accountable in our efforts to identify and eliminate disparities in the care we deliver; to promote a staff that reflects the diversity of our communities; and to cultivate an inclusive environment where all can share openly and honestly and learn from one another about our personal biases and lived experiences. PacMed wants to serve all our patients, caregivers and local communities with the deep empathy, compassion and understanding that each individual deserves.
PacMed is investing in health equity in 2022 and beyond. Learn more about this important work.
