Your PacMed board-certified urologist will do a comprehensive review of your symptoms and medical history. They may ask for a urine sample or blood test to check for infection, diabetes and other issues. Sometimes, the doctor will also order sophisticated imaging, such as a CT or MRI.
Treatments may involve medication, surgery, behavior modification or observation. If surgery is necessary, your doctor may offer you a minimally invasive technique such as robotic-assisted surgery. Or, with laparoscopic surgery, a procedure is done through a small incision with the help of a camera. Both techniques can improve comfort and speed recovery. Whatever the condition, you can expect your urologist to provide caring and comprehensive treatment that’s tailored to you.
If you are considering a vasectomy—your PacMed primary care doctor or urologist will be happy to answer questions as you explore your options.
